Baseball Game Preview: Concordia Cardinals vs. Hill Country Christian School of Austin Knights

Concordia is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Hill Country Christian School of Austin Knights at 4:30 p.m.

Back in February, Concordia came up short against Lutheran and fell 4-1.

Meanwhile, Hill Country Christian School of Austin posted their closest win since April 5, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Covenant 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hill Country Christian School of Austin.

Lane Butler looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Rose, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Hill Country Christian School of Austin: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Hackney, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Hill Country Christian School of Austin now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Concordia, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Concordia came out on top in a nail-biter against Hill Country Christian School of Austin in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 7-5.
