Softball Recap: Park View Patriots vs. Osbourn Eagles

Park View had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it seven. They came up short against the Osbourn Eagles, falling 20-2. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Park View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kim Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Another was Juliana Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Osbourn, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. Considering they have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Osbourn's side, MacKenzie Fitterer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Fitterer a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Osbourn got a massive performance out of Britney Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Reyes has posted since back in March. Tristyn Kershner was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Looking ahead, Park View will host Loudoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Osbourn, they will venture away from home to take on Hylton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
