Basketball Game Preview: Wilmot Wolves vs. Waverly/South Shore Coyotes

Wilmot and Waverly/South Shore are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. Both will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Wilmot is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Britton-Hecla to the tune of 61-34 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wolves have posted since February 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, Waverly/South Shore waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-21 win over the Indians.

Wilmot's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Waverly/South Shore, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3.

Wilmot was able to grind out a solid victory over Waverly/South Shore in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 57-49. Does Wilmot have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waverly/South Shore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
