Basketball Recap: Deming Wildcats vs. Cobre Indians
Deming was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 67-45 to the Cobre Indians. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Indians are ranked 46th).
Zavin Guck continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cobre, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 16 boards. The contest was Guck's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nashaun Parker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards.
Deming's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Cobre, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Deming didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-43 loss against Goddard on the 26th. As for Cobre, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-36 win against Lordsburg on the 20th.
