Baseball Recap: Lisbon Has No Trouble Against Spruce Mountain

Lisbon had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 10-6 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Spruce Mountain Phoenix 20-10. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

Spencer Franks was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cody Osmond, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.

Lisbon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

As for Spruce Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

On Spruce Mountain's side, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Grimaldi, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Max Labonte also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As of now, neither Lisbon nor Spruce Mountain have any future games scheduled.
