Baseball Recap: Slocum's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

While Slocum's win against Union Hill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs skirted past the Bulldogs 5-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Carter Sbrusch made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Slocum is 2-1 when Sbrusch posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-13 otherwise.

Slocum's win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Union Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6-1.

As of now, neither Slocum nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
