Preview: Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes vs. Lake Ridge Eagles
Duncanville is 6-0 against Lake Ridge since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Ridge Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Duncanville will be strutting in after a win while Lake Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.
Duncanville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Mansfield Legacy, posting a 68-39 victory on the road. Given Duncanville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Mansfield Legacy is ranked 258th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mariah Clayton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with four steals. The contest was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chloe Mann, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Lake Ridge lost to Cedar Hill at home by a decisive 67-49 margin on Friday. Lake Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The victory makes it two in a row for Duncanville and bumps their season record up to 11-3. As for Lake Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Duncanville was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Ridge in their previous matchup back in January, winning 62-52. Will Duncanville repeat their success, or does Lake Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
