Baseball Recap: Navarre Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Navarre can now relate to. They fell 7-3 to the Pace Patriots on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in February.

Navarre got a good showing from Gavin Gray, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gray has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bo Shipley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Navarre has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Pace, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Navarre does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pace, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Crestview on the 16th.
