Softball Recap: Mynderse Academy Finds Home Field Redemption Against Wayne

There's no place like home for Mynderse Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Wayne Eagles by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Eagles on Thursday, they had to take a 11-5 loss.

Isabella Burlew made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyah Lajewski, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Cheyenne Mangum was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Mynderse Academy pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
