Benton waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Monticello Panthers as they made off with a 16-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Benton's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Monticello, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benton will head out to challenge Vinton-Shellsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.64 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Monticello, they are taking a road trip to take on Cascade at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
