Baseball Recap: Barren County Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Barren County got themselves on the board against Campbellsville on Thursday, but Campbellsville never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 7-0. Considering the Trojans have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Skylar Potter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Reece, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Barren County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Campbellsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barren County will host Central Hardin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Campbellsville, they will be playing at home against Taylor County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
