The James Buchanan Rockets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Susquenita 48-6. James Buchanan has struggled against Susquenita recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Susquenita can attribute much of their success to Derek Gibney, who threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Gibney is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Drew Gibney did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
James Buchanan's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.0 points per game. As for Susquenita, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.
James Buchanan will be playing in front of their home fans against Newport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newport comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Susquenita, they will head out on the road to face off against Juniata at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
