It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Milford had no problem doing just that on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Westfield Bombers 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Scarlet Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Tyler Ballard was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ballard was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Milford's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Westfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.
