Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Victory Christian Academy and Seacrest Country Day squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Victory Christian Academy had to settle for second. They took a hard 53-39 fall against the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays.

Despite the loss, Victory Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Bianca Barroso, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Barroso has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jade Grier, who posted 13 points and eight boards.

Seacrest Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dragana Scepanovic led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Scepanovic a new career-high in blocks (three). Dailin Delgado was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Seacrest Country Day, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
