Basketball Recap: Valencia Gets the Win

If Socorro wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Valencia, they should've done a better job of containing Carin Bustillos. The Valencia Jaguars claimed a resounding 72-42 victory over the Socorro Warriors thanks in part to Bustillos, who posted 26 points and eight rebounds. Those 26 points gave him a new career-high.

Valencia's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Socorro, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valencia will head out to take on Grants at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Socorro, they will head out on the road to face off against Moriarty at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
