Basketball Recap: Stone Takes a Loss

Stone was the 60-55 winner over George County when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Tomcats fell 68-59 to the Rebels on Saturday. Tomcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Rebels since Saturday.

Despite the loss, Stone still got an impressive performance from Jabari Moye, who went 14-for-28 to rack up 42 points. Moye is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Randen Howze also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Stone dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for George County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Stone will square off against Collins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for George County, they will venture away from home to take on Gautier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
