Recap: Pickens County Tornadoes vs. Calhoun Tigers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Pickens County Tornadoes can now relate to. They took a 60-45 bruising from the Tigers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Pickens County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Calhoun is ranked 158th).
Calhoun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Robertson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kentavius Loftin, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Pickens County's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Calhoun, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Pickens County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calhoun, they will take on Keith at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keith has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,530 points over their last 21 games.
