Baseball Recap: Union Catholic Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Union Catholic not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 9-2). They blew past the Dayton Bulldogs 10-3. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nick Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Union Catholic got a big performance out of Greg Viloria, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Chris Wilson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Union Catholic's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dayton, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Union Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-5 victory against Westfield on the 24th. As for Dayton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 win against Union on the 24th.
