Softball Recap: Cambridge Victorious

Cambridge's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Wisconsin Heights Vanguards. This was payback for the Bluejays, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Emily Buckman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Casey Travis, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Kelly, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Cambridge's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Wisconsin Heights, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.
