Overfelt got a massive performance out of BRIAN BECERRA DADO, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. BECERRA DADO is becoming a predictor of the Royals' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was DECIMUS LACAYO, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
James Lick couldn't beat San Jose on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fifth inning. The Comets lost 16-6 to the Bulldogs. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Isaiah Vaughn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Dereck Galvan was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
James Lick's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Overfelt, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
James Lick's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Overfelt has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for James Lick, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Overfelt's sizable advantage in that area, the Comets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Overfelt took their win against James Lick in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
