Softball Recap: Rancho Dominguez Takes a Loss

Rancho Dominguez extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-7 in the process. They came up short against the San Pedro Pirates, falling 23-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 26-0 back in April.

As for San Pedro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For San Pedro's part, Maya Sindicich was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sindicich has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other pitching news, Caroline Baker looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Brianna Rodela was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Mia Guerrero was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs.

As of now, neither Rancho Dominguez nor San Pedro have any future games scheduled.
