Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short

Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Timberwolves from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Sven Van De Loecht put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Van De Loecht was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Daniel Bordas was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Stroudsburg North, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Notre Dame has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 loss against Pocono Mountain West on the 27th. As for East Stroudsburg North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-1 defeat against Northampton on the 26th.
