Basketball Game Preview: Marion Rams vs. Billingsley Bears

The Marion Rams will take on the Billingsley Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Marion is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ellwood Christian 59-18. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Meanwhile, Billingsley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 46-24 victory.

Marion better keep an eye on Alana Jones. She was instrumental in Billingsley's win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 boards. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 44 games she's played dating back to last season. Derrica Motley was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight boards and five assists.

Billingsley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 45 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Billingsley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Marion, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.

Marion came out on top in a nail-biter against Billingsley in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 47-45. Will Marion repeat their success, or does Billingsley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
