Basketball Recap: Sedgwick County Triumphs

If Burlington wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sedgwick County, they should've done a better job of containing Jace Ehmke. Sedgwick County walked away with a 56-45 victory over Burlington on Saturday thanks in part to Ehmke, who went 6-for-10 en route to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. What's more, he also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Joshua Palic, who posted eight points and 13 boards. Palic is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Burlington still got an impressive performance from Adan Lopez-Mitchell, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowdy Humrich, who scored seven points and eight boards.

Sedgwick County's record is now 12-5. As for Burlington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Sedgwick County has already played their next game, a 65-53 defeat against Haxtun on the 21st. As for Burlington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-18 win against Deer Trail on the 20th.
