Appomattox County won the last time they faced William Campbell and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Raiders walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Generals. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Appomattox County got a great performance from Chloe Vaughan as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Vaughan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karly Jenkins, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Regan Sheilds, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Appomattox County's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for William Campbell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Appomattox County will take on Randolph-Henry at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Statesmen have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for William Campbell, they will face off against Dan River at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
