Softball Game Preview: Greene Central Rams vs. Farmville Central Jaguars

For the second straight game, Greene Central will face off against Farmville Central. The Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Greene Central has struggled recently with 41 defeats in a row, while Farmville Central will arrive with four straight victories.

Greene Central fell victim to Farmville Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 18-0 to the Jaguars.

For Farmville Central's part, Callie Mitchell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Mitchell has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Corri Houston was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Michele Wirth was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3.

Farmville Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
