Softball Recap: Rivera Comes Up Short

Rivera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-1 to the Weslaco East Wildcats.

Rivera saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariel Allen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Rivera's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Weslaco East, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Coming up, Rivera will venture away from home to challenge Harlingen South at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Harlingen South knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Rivera likes a good challenge. As for Weslaco East, they will be playing at home against Pace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weslaco East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
