Soccer Recap: Abingdon Comes Up Short

After soaring to seven goals the game before, Abingdon was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Gate City Blue Devils by a score of 1-0. The loss continues a trend for Abingdon in their meetings with Gate City: they've now lost three in a row.

Abingdon's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-4. As for Gate City, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Abingdon wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, an 8-0 win against Lee on the 17th. As for Gate City, they have also already played their next match, a 6-0 victory against Richlands on the 17th.
