Basketball Game Preview: Ankeny Centennial Jaguars vs. Johnston Dragons

Ankeny Centennial is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Johnston is on a four-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Ankeny Centennial duked it out withValley two weeks ago. Ankeny Centennial might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Valley an easy 68-44 victory. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Tigers are ranked 87th).

Meanwhile, Johnston made easy work of Urbandale last Friday and carried off a 62-37 win. That 25 point margin sets a new team best for the Dragons this season.

Ankeny Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Johnston, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Ankeny Centennial strolled past Johnston in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 59-40. Will Ankeny Centennial repeat their success, or does Johnston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
