Volleyball Recap: Grossmont Comes Up Short

Grossmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Granite Hills Eagles. If the Foothillers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Grossmont was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Granite Hills' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-13, 25-16.

Grossmont's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Granite Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Grossmont will challenge El Cajon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. El Cajon Valley will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Grossmont surely won't give up without a fight. As for Granite Hills, they will square off against Eastlake at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
