Softball Recap: Millennium Comes Up Short

Millennium was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Corona del Sol Aztecs, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-3 last Tuesday.

Millennium saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlotte McCloskey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was McCloskey's first of the season. Another was Cassie Garza, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Millennium's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Corona del Sol, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millennium will face off against Xavier College Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Gators' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Corona del Sol, they will challenge Basha at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
