Softball Recap: Coconino Beats Casteel for Their Fourth Straight Win

Coconino had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Casteel Colts 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 11, 2024.

Kaitlyn Tso made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aryanna Dominguez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Coconino's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Casteel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
