Basketball Recap: Make It 26 in a Row for Great Crossing

Great Crossing extended their postseason success on Saturday against Montgomery County. They were the clear victors by a 70-49 margin over the Indians. Great Crossing has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Malachi Moreno was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 28 points and 15 boards. The game was his sixth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vince Dawson, who went 8-for-16 to rack up 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

The victory (which was Great Crossing's 26th in a row) raised their record to 34-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points over those games. As for Montgomery County, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-11.

Great Crossing wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-61 victory against Bowling Green on the 29th. Montgomery County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
