Baseball Recap: Liberty Union Extends Winning Streak to Four

Liberty Union proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Danville Blue Devils, sneaking past 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won four contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Tanner Farmer, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Thomas, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Liberty Union's record is now 10-1-1. As for Danville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coming up, Liberty Union will take on Fairfield Union at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Danville, they will challenge Northmor at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Knights' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
