Baseball Recap: Ben Davis Takes a Loss

Ben Davis fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lawrence Central on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 5-4. The Giants were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Tyler Morris was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Jeremiah Oritz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinton Gildon, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Ben Davis is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Lawrence Central, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ben Davis beat the Bears by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday.
