Dowagiac came into Wednesday's   contest having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Michigan Lutheran Titans 14-4 on Wednesday. The Chieftains not only won  on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win  since May 11, 2024 (when they won  13-3).
 Cole Wimberley was a  major factor no matter where he played. He  pitched 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  RBI and one  run. That  run was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Kaleb Smith was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and one  RBI. That  RBI marked the first that  he has  brought in this season. Another player making a difference was  Lamone Moore, who  got on base  in all five of his plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Dowagiac  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .659. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Dowagiac's record now sits at 2-8. As for Michigan Lutheran, they now  have a losing record of 7-8.
Dowagiac will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
