Softball Recap: Mazama Takes a Loss

Mazama extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-12 in the process. They lost 12-2 to the Hidden Valley Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-11 defeat on Saturday.

As for Hidden Valley, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

For Hidden Valley's part, Bailey Sandquist was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave Sandquist a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Lesher, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mazama will square off against rival Klamath Union at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hidden Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Henley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
