Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

St. Mary came into Tuesday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Concordia Cardinals by a score of 40-32 on Tuesday. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 56-31 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

St. Mary's had a senior duo take command as Kolbe Barta posted 14 points and Ty Zimmerhanzel had 15 points. The dominant performance gave Barta a new career-high in points.

St. Mary's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Concordia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

St. Mary's will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sterling Classical at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Concordia, they will head out to square off against Valor South Austin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
