Softball Recap: Wauconda Comes Up Short

Wauconda fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Belvidere on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bucs. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Madison May was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophie Mantell, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Wauconda's record now sits at 4-18. As for Belvidere, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wauconda beat the Bucs by a score of 5-4 later that day.
