Football Game Preview: Hillcrest Trojans vs. St. Margaret's Tartans + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Matthew Ramos and Kai Letcher are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hillcrest Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Margaret's Tartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hillcrest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Monrovia 41-14. Considering the Trojans have won five matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hillcrest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reyez Ortiz, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Ortiz also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Trojans are 6-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise. Another receiver making a difference was Nicholas Shaw, who picked up 127 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, St. Margaret's was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Redlands East Valley 16-15. Winning may never get old, but the Tartans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Hillcrest now has a winning record of 6-5. As for St. Margaret's, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
