Baseball Recap: Eisenhower Comes Up Short

Eisenhower dropped down to 4-13 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 12-3 to the Carter Lions. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Anthony Sepulveda made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Adan Flores, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Carter, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

On Carter's side, Ricardo Martinez looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Martinez is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 5-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jacob Arcos, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Acevedo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eisenhower beat Carter by a score of 6-3 on Thursday.
