The Von Steuben Panthers will head out to face off against the Whitney Young Dolphins at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Von Steuben is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Von Steuben lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Brooks, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Aiden Rodriguez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Kayin Timble was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Matteo Banuelos was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Von Steuben always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Whitney Young fell victim to Barrington and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 7-0 to the Fillies/Broncos. The Dolphins haven't had much luck with the Fillies/Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Whitney Young also got a good showing from Graham Hadland, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Hadland hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in March.
Von Steuben pushed their record up to 12-11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Whitney Young, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Von Steuben has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Whitney Young struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Von Steuben's way against Whitney Young in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Von Steuben made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Dolphins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
