Football Recap: St. Augustine Prep Falls Short Against Ranked Millville

St. Augustine Prep faced Millville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hermits fell 28-21 to the Thunderbolts. The Hermits were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbolts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

St. Augustine Prep's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. As for Millville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Augustine Prep will face off against Holy Spirit at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hermits will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Millville, they will take on Toms River East at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Thunderbolts' offense will have their work cut out for them.
