Softball Recap: Guajome Park Academy Comes Up Short

If Guajome Park Academy was feeling good fresh off their 20-4 takedown of Victory Christian Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Frogs came up short against the Maranatha Christian Eagles on Wednesday, falling 25-2. The loss continues a trend for the Frogs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Guajome Park Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Franco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Guajome Park Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Maranatha Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Guajome Park Academy will challenge Julian at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maranatha Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Orange Glen at 3:30 p.m. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.25 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
