Softball Recap: Highland Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Highland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against the Burroughs Burros as they made off with an 11-2 win. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Paisley Memory made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Highland got a massive performance out of Bella Williams, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Williams also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Aubrey Reyes was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Highland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Burroughs, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will take on Apple Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Highland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Burroughs, they will challenge Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
