Baseball Recap: Cole's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Cole, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pearsall Mavericks on Saturday, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since April 22, 2024.

Cole's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Zinnante, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave Zinnante a new career-high in stolen bases. Another was Tristan Zedhikeia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Cole's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Pearsall, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Coming up, Cole will challenge Poteet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pearsall, they will face off against Navarro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Navarro's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Pearsall's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
