Football Recap: Kamiak Comes Up Short at Home Against Meadowdale + How To Watch

Kamiak unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Meadowdale Mavericks by a score of 22-19 on Friday. The game was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Knights couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the defeat, Kamiak saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayden Harris rushed for 88 yards and one score, and also picked up 67 receiving yards. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 55 yards. Another big playmaker for Kamiak was Lucas Burd, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Coming up, Kamiak is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Juanita at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th. As for Meadowdale, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shorewood at 8:00 p.m. The matchup will give the Mavericks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
