Baseball Recap: Jackson Prep Falls Short Against Ranked Presbyterian Christian

Jackson Prep faced Presbyterian Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 7-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Gardner Young was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kevin Roberts, JR, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Jackson Prep's loss dropped their record down to 16-12-1. As for Presbyterian Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jackson Prep beat the Bobcats by a score of 10-2 later that day.
