Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Holmes' Tenth in Last 12 Outings

There's no place like home for Holmes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Camden County Bruins on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Aces: when they faced off against the Bruins on Monday, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

The result came thanks to Maddox Bass's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Holmes secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Darius Oliver, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Holmes is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Camden County, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5.

Holmes will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bruins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
