Volleyball Recap: Rio Linda Comes Up Short

Rio Linda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Sutter Huskies, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sutter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kalena DeLaCerna, who had 18 assists and three aces.

Rio Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sutter, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Rio Linda will take on rival Casa Roble at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sutter is set to challenge their familiar foe Woodland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
